From Innis to Vicksburg

So, about 2 weeks ago Josh and I promised my grandparents we would come for a visit! Well, we loaded up and headed to Innis, Louisiana. (good luck finding that on a map)
Josh, PawPaw, MawMaw and Me

We really had a good time. We always do. My grandparents are so awesome. They are 86 and 84!!! My MawMaw knows how to e-mail! My PawPaw isn't the e-mailer, but he loves to sing and watch Big Joe Polka!! My PawPaw also loves to talk...I mean a lot! He loves to tells stories.. over and over and over again! Josh will just sit and listen and laugh!! Anyway, here is a pic of him after he insisted on cooking my breakfast!! He made eggs, toast and bacon!! It was soo good!
PawPaw frying some bacon!

Anyway, after we balled out of Innis, we headed to meet our friends from Texas that had been in MS all weekend.. We were going to meet at Rusty's in Vicksburg and grab some lunch.. but Rusty's was closed and we ended up at the Biscuit Company.. umm.. it was a nice meal!

What?

School, is slowly taking over my life. I once was able to surf the internet with pleasure. Now, it is a race against time. I have to prioritize my favorite websites..which one do I want to look at first.. do I have enough time to actually fit three sites in this surf. It's getting ridiculous. I don't like this one bit. I liked my leisure strolls through each page, reading random things and taking my precious time.

So, here is my quick update, BFF is having a baby girl. Her name is Anne Presley. I am so excited. BFF's belly is poking out and I love it!!!! I can't believe my BFF is having a baby. It's crazy. We started working on our patients this semester in dental hygiene school. I love it. I don't love all the nonsense that we have to do, like teacher check offs, probe every single tooth, etc. but I know it is all for the sake of learning. We are overrun with tests and tests and tests... We have a test on Monday and what do you think about me studying... nope, haven't even started yet. Awesome Haley, way to be on top of your game.

On another note, please continue to pray for Matt, Ashley and lil Sawyer Dykman. I went to HS with Ashley and Matt. I keep up with them via their blog. Anyway, ther are expecting, but lil Sawyer has been having a good bit of trouble with his kidneys... so please please please say a prayer for them. It would mean a lot to me and to them, I know.

Also, another friends blog that I stalk from HS is Jamie. She loves to bake. I love to bake too. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or the space (in this small apartment) to accomplish some of her tasks.I promise though, whenI finish school, I am heading over to her house for some lessons. She only took a few classes. She has a natural talent at this baking thing. I am so jealous.

*side note, I tried to attach links to Matt and Ashleys blog as well as Jamie's. I am not sure I was successful at it or not. My blog is still a work in progress.

****Update: I figured out how to add links. I am a genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PINK OR BLUE?

Holy crap.. in two days, my BFF and her hubs find out if they are having a boy or a girl. How exciting? I don't want to know yet.. you wait 18 weeks to find out what it is.. and then you have another 22 to prepare yourself, your house, your family, your animals, etc. I didn't want to find out when my brother and his wife were having a baby... it's like all the suspense is about to end.. and I guess I just want to prolong it for just a little while longer!!! So, 2 days and the fun begins!!!!

Getting My Life Together

It's an ongoing joke with me that I am always saying, "I am going to get my life together today." I have been saying this forever, but so far.... the only thing I get together is my home life. I never seem to get my school life in order. It's not like it's not in order, but when you are me... TYPE A (for anal) then you thoroughly believe things should be "just so." Anyway, t0morrow is the day I am going to get my life in order. Let's see how this goes. Hubs says I have to get off the computer now because he wants to go to sleep and my typing will keep him awake.. so off to dream of getting my life together!!

Pancakes and Chocolate Milk

So, this morning it was 20 degrees outside or something ridiculous like that and I decided venturing outside was not on my list of things to do for the day. Instead, I opted to lay in the bed and stay nice and cozy. Well, after hours of laying in the bed... I got a little bored and decided breakfast would do my body good... a nice, healthy breakfast. I made some warm, soft, fluffy pancakes which I globbed butter all over and then I smothered them in my favorite syrup, Blackburns. I whipped up a nice glass of WHOLE milk with about 92 tablespoons of Hershey's syrup. Now, I'm on the couch watching none other than HGTV!!!! I will eventually get up and be productive. I think there are 6 trips worth of trash in my apartment because Josh and I are too lazy to actually take it out.

ok, so back to wallowing on the couch I go... I start school monday and it's not gonna be pretty.

Fear and Accomplishment

I took the biggest leap of my life...

I stepped into an elevator alone. This is probably one of my greatest fears. Being alone in an elevator terrifies me. I can't tell you the last time I actually rode an elevator by myself. The thought petrifies me.

BUT.. I DID IT! I rode an elevator by myself, with a little encouragement from about 10 of my dental hygiene friends!! I told Leigh I wanted to get on it.. she encouraged me.... more like convinced me!! I was scared, palms were sweaty, stomach in knots.. crazy. So, I got on it. Then, as the doors started to shut I got halfway out so the door wouldn't shut. I thought I might have a heart attack. As you see, I didn't. I got back on. Leigh said, push the button and breathe... I did. The doors shut and I rode from the 4th floor to the 2nd. I squealed the whole way down... and when the doors opened and my friends were standing there clapping..I cried. Cried cause I rode it, cried cause they cared so much, cried cause I was glad to get off the elevator.. you name it.. I was crying about it... BUT I DID IT!!!

I don't think it's really fear...it's like I had a small issue with riding the elevator alone and I got so used to not riding the elevator alone that I figured I just couldn't ever ride it alone...but I forced myself to get over the fear... so NOW.. onto more elevators. I will conquer this..
